Quest Successfully Kicks Off First Week of Employee Food Pantry

As we’ve seen these past few weeks, it only takes one event to turn someone’s world upside down. When COVID-19 forced schools all over the Midwest to close, we had no choice but to furlough hundreds of employees. These are difficult times, and we want to do our part to add a bit more security and certainty to our people affected by this pandemic.

This week we rolled out the Quest Food Pantry to further assist our furloughed employees. Our leadership team has been working nonstop to protect and continue to provide as many resources for employees as they can. This week, an employee Food Pantry has been setup – 4 locations have been stocked with groceries, dry goods, and produce. We also plan on delivering to the employees unable to leave their homes.

In this very difficult time we want to do everything we can to help provide for our team members and their families. Our President, Nick Saccaro also wanted to give a special thank you to St. Ignatius, Glenbrook South High School. West Chicago High School, and Union School District for allowing us to distribute groceries to our employees.

“The generosity of our client partners during this COVID-19 pandemic has been absolutely overwhelming. We always knew we had exceptional partners, but what we have experienced the past few weeks from our partners has been nothing short of miraculous.”

Nick Saccaro, President

During this first week, we had nearly 150 employees pick up groceries. CEO and Owner, Mike McTaggart and his wife, Heidi, were at the pickup locations helping loading the vehicles from a safe distance.

“It was one of the most fulfilling things I have ever done.  It was amazing to see our folks say hi from a safe distance and let them know we are doing everything we can to help right now and that we are working to help them in the long run. I had folks actually shed a tear in appreciation and it impacted me like few things ever have.”

This continues to be a very difficult time for so many of our employees to make ends meet.  The process for applying for unemployment during this crisis results in processing delays which is making this very challenging.

We will continue the program as long as it is needed and anticipate increased participation next week already. We cannot thank our partners enough for the support they have shown us and continue to show us during this time.
