Nutter Center

Wright State University’s Nutter Center is one of the Midwest’s premier sports and entertainment venues, hosting major concerts, athletic events, and community gatherings. When Quest partnered with the university, the goal was to elevate every aspect of the guest experience while improving operational efficiency and strengthening community engagement.
The collaboration brought immediate and impactful improvements. By upgrading technology, enhancing menu quality, reorganizing service areas, and revitalizing nonprofit partnerships, Quest helped define what hospitality means within this large-scale entertainment environment.
Background
Before Quest’s arrival, the Nutter Center faced several challenges that affected both service quality and guest satisfaction.
- Outdated Systems – Old point-of-sale equipment caused long lines, slow transactions, and frequent interruptions.
- Inefficient Operations – Staffing levels and production standards were inconsistent, creating delays and uneven service.
- Facility Conditions – Concession stands visually dated and under-performing.
- Inconsistent Food Quality – Menus relied heavily on frozen and processed items, leaving guests with limited fresh options.
These issues combined to create an experience that no longer matched the university’s expectations for quality or excitement of the events being hosted.
Solution
Quest implemented a comprehensive plan focused on quality, efficiency, and community connection.

Modernizing Technology
All point-of-sale systems were upgraded with faster processing, enhanced security, and expanded offline functionality. These updates made transactions more reliable, even during network interruptions, while integrated reporting tools improved financial visibility for operators. The result was smoother transactions, shorter lines, and more efficient guest flow.
Redefining Operations
Quest established new stand production standards, optimized staffing, and introduced professional hawkers to deliver food directly to guests, increasing speed and convenience. Every concession stand is being repaired, reorganized, and refreshed to enhance appearance and workflow. New prep processes and clearer roles improved team coordination, reduced bottlenecks, and ensured consistent service. Together, these upgrades create a more polished, efficient, and guest-focused operation throughout the Nutter Center.

Elevating Food Quality
Menus were reimagined to spotlight fresh selections such as handmade pizzas, all-beef hot dogs, and crisp fried cheese curds. New recipes and upgraded ingredients brought vibrant flavor and consistency to every stand, while a renewed focus on preparation ensured food was served hot, well-seasoned, and visually appealing.
Rebuilding Community Partnerships
Quest revitalized the nonprofit volunteer program, improving work environments and fundraising potential. The transformation has been so successful that there is now a waitlist of local organizations eager to participate. In one year, these groups raised a combined $83,672, demonstrating the positive financial and social impact of the partnership.
